HISTORY OF GAPHURA

The Association of Indonesian Hajj, Umrah, and Halal Tourism Entrepreneurs (GAPHURA) is an official association that represents entrepreneurs and organizers of Hajj, Umrah, and halal tourism throughout Indonesia.

Founded on Wednesday, January 20, 2021, GAPHURA was born out of a desire to strengthen synergy among Hajj and Umrah travel operators, enhance professionalism, and provide the best possible service to pilgrims in Indonesia.

Since its inception with 33 travel agencies as members, GAPHURA has continued to show rapid growth. By 2025, the number of members had grown to 60 travel agencies spread across various regions of Indonesia.

Committed to upholding quality, integrity, and public trust, GAPHURA plays an active role in building a safe, comfortable, and Sharia-compliant ecosystem for religious travel and halal tourism.
